The first transgenic dog in history is also a fluorescent dog. This is a cloned female sleuth, she is called Ruppy (contraction of "Ruby" and "Puppy", that is to say, a ruby puppy) and she and her four siblings are able to produce a fluorescent protein, under ultraviolet light, which glows with a deep red. The litter was created by a team of South Korean scientists, led by Byeong-Chun Lee, of Seoul National University. And they got through the cloning of fibroblasts (a type of connective tissue cells) from sea anemones, that are capable of expressing a red fluorescent gene.

Giant 4.5 meters asparagus found in Sant Sadurni d'Anoia

This news is perfect for hungry vegetarians. Three brothers of the Catalan city of Sant Sadurní d'Anoia have found a wild four meters and a half long asparagus in a wooded area of pines. The asparagus could be the longest ever found in Spain because, according to what the brothers Antoni, Josep and Cristòfol Fernandez said, the asparagus which currently holds the record measures only 4.20 meters. You see, there is always someone interested in any subject, it may seem eccentric, but I think that people are veeeeery bored.

A parking meter repairman hid for a year 170,000 dollars exchange, taken from machine to machine, and put the loot in his home near Washington, before police searched his home and arrest him on charges of robbery. The bullet pierced his brain. He entered her forehead and exited through her neck. "But the woman was conscious and even prepared some tea for herself. Tammy Sexton, 47, was shot in the head fired by her husband, Donald Ray Sexton. "When police arrived they thought they would find a corpse, but there she was, walking and talking," said Byrd.

Take care, if you live in Mauritania and you are an albino, you probablywill be able to obtain political asylum in Spain. An African immigrant who is in the Foreign Detention Center of Hoya Fria, Spain, embarked on a barge that sailed from Mauritania and arrived on their own, with God's help and the wind, to the Canary Islands. Moszy, the immigrant, is eighteen years old and he is African and albino from head to toe. He arrived to Tenerife with sixty other sub-Saharan Africa of different nationalities in a canoe and asked for political asylum because, he says, in his country people wanted him to eat, because his white body is coveted to be used in witchcraft rituals.

Moustached horse refuses to be shaved

Alfie is a normal horse in almost every way. Except for one small detail: he has a mustache longer than many men. A rare, beautiful blond curly mustache. But many in the stable of Gloucestershire (England), where Alfie lives, don't think is flattering to a hack of his category appearing around so unkempt. So they have tried several times to grab it and shave it by force.
According Nopuedocreer.com reporter, which lacked the British was that the horse is very surly or very intelligent (or that he is simply proud of his mustache), because when he sees someone coming to him for the purpose of take his mop he runs. I think that probably he is a flirtatious horse.

Young Nicaraguan resurrects in his funeral

Mistake or miracle? Is the question that doctors and family are after a young handicapped pronounced dead at a hospital in Nicaragua began to move her hands, while being in her coffin during the wake, said the local press in Nicaragua. Can you imagine the shock that took those present at the funeral and the joy of their loved ones when they realized the miracle?

Grumpy?

Hmmmm, I have been reviewing what I wrote on this blog so far and I realize one thing: I am a whiner and a bitter, or at least it seems I am. I say this because I noticed that I have only have written subjects of complaints and criticisms, but in my defense I will say that after some thought, I discovered why I do this, they are basically two reasons:

1) It is a very practical way to expand on comments and yet not be bored on selected topics, and even to be a bit more resourceful (or at least I try to do this). In addition, I think that I've been writing in recent days, seemed to me a little more original than the typical diary still do that if already is tiresome, in my case ... well let's say that my life is as exciting as a bonsai.

2) Since I was a child, I grew attached to very acidic comedians and writers as Pepe Rubianes (I loved this man, shame that died this year), and Eduardo Mendoza o Andreu Buenafuente, because my parents loved this humor sense, too. So, always attracted me a lot what some call intelligent humor (which sounds very pedantic for my taste) or, as I summarize this concept, criticism of the manners of the people around us by exaggerating their defects until the comic but, more importantly, starting to laugh at oneself, which is harder than it looks.

3) Yes, I know I said that they will be two points, and this is the third. I'm sorry, it just arrived to my mind a moment ago. The thing is that the design of the blog is so ashy because I can not change it for one more beautiful, not that I want to have a background with stones and dead trees (although I do not really dislike the aesthetics). I will put something more cheerful as soon as blogger settings stop being an obstacle for me.

So I would like to note that if the general tone of the entries I've done so far is ... well, grumpy, it's just something circustancial, since I have been guided by a practical sense of what may help me to solve my class assignment, that is to say, something I like to do and therefore don't find it heavy, but that in no case defines me as a plane character, grumpy, whiny or a bitter person.

We are going to shoot a short film for a contest!!

Well, the thing is, my friends decided to shoot a short for submission to a contest in Torrent, the only rule is you have to have about 10 minutes long and that his argument has to revolve around a theme of urban ecology ( you know, recycle materials, respect the street cleaning, saving energy and all that stuff). The project leader, who has become convinced everyone else to participate, is one of our friends who studied an audiovisual performance module, and lately is very lively and eager to carry out any projects. It is the first thing we do such, but the truth is we had not done anything as complex as this short film so far, despite the script we have created is very simple, when we have come to do the technical script we have realized that everything has to be perfectly measured to create a decent video, and you have to program it all very well, including time recording and video editing. We are also excited because the winning short will be used for a local awareness campaign, and also will earn a prize of 700 euros.

Given my lack of imagination, I thought it would be good to post the profile of the characters that will be part of the script, to give you an idea. It's a simple love story (all too typical, I know), but we think it can work to deliver a message to an awareness campaign:

Rachel (co-star):
He is 22 years old and she's studying Environmental Science at the University of Valencia. She has a sister named Violet and gets along very well with her and her parents. She would be an ideal daughter for any mother if she wasn't always being given grilled everyone at home to make them aware that they have to recycle. Since she is the one that emphasizes the theme touches always to handle down the trash. She's very cheerful, optimistic and very involved with the environment, always thinking how to benefit other people. She loves nature, (that's) animals and trekking whenever possible. He has a friend, Raul, with whom he shares the lessons and hobbies. She looks a little bit hippy.

Roberto (co-star):
He is 25 and works in the cleaning of City Hall, he is a landfill. He lives with his mother in a bit old house, at home they have never had much money. Roberto's father died when he was 15 years old in a car accident and since then Robert became the sole support of his mother and he is now in charge of the household economy. Roberto is a young and vitalist guy, he is optimistic and leads a very simple life without too many complications. He worries about rising in the morning to go to work and to go out with friends when he has a night off. For others he may seem a young arrogant guy that couldn't give a damn about anything, or that he may be the typical smashed at first glance, but actually is a humble guy and very easy. Its worst fault is the lack of order and disinterest in maintaining the cleanliness no matter where, despite working in trash. He has got a messy room, his car is made a dump and if he goes down the street and he starts eating a stick of gum, he eats it and throws the paper on the floor, without any remorse (which character so dirty!!). His best friend is Jose, who works with him. Roberto's love to party and make his mother smile. Look: Normal.

My friend has asked me to do this role but I do not think this is a good idea, because my acting abilities are rather... Well, I haven't xD.

Raul:
Best friend of Rachel. He is 22 years old and looks just like Rachel. It is a lovely boy, friendly and, like Rachel, she likes to do crazy things from time to time, he loves Rachel but he doesn't dare to tell her (poor boy!!). Look: Pop.

Jose:
Best friend and confidant of Robert. She is 24 years old and also works as a garbage dump. He is a boy who is content to lead a simple life and loves being with his friends. Recently he has left with his girlfriend of all life and he is overcoming it in part thanks to his friend Roberto. He may be a little shy at first but then when you know him is a very happy guy and a joker.

Clara:
Raquel's friend. She is 22 years old, and celebrates her birthday party that will prepare her friends, including Raquel. Clara is a very open minded girl and very pragmatic. At the party she is bright, happy and very happy to share her birthday with her friends.

Raquel's mother:
A 50 years old woman, she is a very kind person and a lover of good food. Lately she is learning to separate waste for recycling, as they teach their daughters. It costs her a little and she doesn't like that their daughters have to say her where to throw the cans or cardboard because she is a little proud, but she loves her children dearly.

Raquel's father:
A man in his 50s, of few words and a homebody. When he is eating with his family, he never part of the conversations between his wife and daughters, he just watches TV when he's eating and picks up his plate and leaves the room to sit and read. He speaks only when asked (what a stupid character!! xD).

Violeta:
Sister of Rachel. He is 10 years old. She is very cheerful and curious. She is always asking Raquel about what she makes at the university. She also wants to study at university, she wants to be (when she grows up, obviously) veterinary to care for her dog Pluto and to save many animals. She also helps her sister with the stuff of recycling at home and corrects her mother when she gets confused and throws the paper into the bag of glass. She is also very affectionate. For now, we have problems with this character because we haven't a little girl to play this part.

Roberto's mother:
A woman of about 55 years old, she is a widow since 10 years ago. She lives with her son, her life is her son and doesn't go nearly far into the street. She is a happy woman, and despite the circumstances, she has overcome the death of her husband thanks to the vitality of her son, and she always says he's a scoundrel, but with affection.

Well, that's all, we have to get it done and delivered by the 7th of February. In addition, we have to shoot it during exams, so everything will be pretty intense but... here we go, to see what comes out!
Incidentally, the website of the producer, where you can see the project once it will be finished is www.produccionsmarco.com

Facebook, Tuenti and other crap.

Lately, I've noticed I'm more aware than usual of my Tuenti account. It's something that surprised myself, because until a few months ago, I have been living without a Facebook account, Tuenti or other similar social networks, and have refused to participate in them.
But a few months ago, someone convinced me to participate in these two social networks, with the aim to inform and connect quite easily with some friends to organize a tour during the summer holidays. Once experienced these two networks, I have to admit that they have some practical utility, are very well to be aware of events, concerts of your favorite bands, book presentations, etc..
So far everything has a certain logic, but what I do not like is this: I've noticed that people get hooked to these networks in a very addictive form, using much of their free time creating them and whether it a necessity to use and organize their life around them, a thing that seems ridiculous to me. That is, if you're not on Facebook, you do not exist, so people forget the traditional forms of contact with friends, and even have a bad habit to consider a"true friend" to all who are registered as self-friend in the network, when the reality is that in most cases they are barely known. I also noticed that many people behave in a superficial and totally unnatural way: for example, the comments of Tuenti and Facebook are said to love each other very often, but then when they meet with each other in a real situation, just they barely know what matters they have in common to speak or just what to say.

And all this... what happens in this way? Well, in my opinion is much more comfortable interacting with others behind a virtual barrier, without exposing our true face to others. Everything is much prettier, of course, but it is also true that we lose our social skills in an alarming manner, and what's worse, people seem to be happy with this way of life, without noticing anything. For now, I am satisfied with this awareness, with not to be overly dependent on this type of fraudulent social relations and, as far as possible, not be considered a freak by most of people that love passionately Facebook and all the false magic that surrounds it.

Pirates of the Caribbean 3 (at World's end). Was this necessary?

I saw this movie yesterday for the first time, and I became somewhat clear: the rule that second part never good seems to lose strength against the rule that 'third party is always worse'. The first Pirates of the Caribbean movie meant as a surprise, a nice movie, fun and full of action, the latter would take that formula and multiplied it (with little abbility, I think), so we got more action, more jokes, more special effects and that things weren't getting out off the rails, things which have failed in this third part.

To begin I must say that I found it too long, and especially its first part is boring and long, one gets the feeling that neither advances the plot or nobody knows very well where to go, and the characters seem a caricature of what at first would have been. Jack Sparrow in this movie has more bad jokes he has done throughout the trilogy, it's funny only one in a fiw nonsense of all that he does throughout the film, he has blurred so much himself that he has lost all coherence and serves both to make the utmost idiocy and to be a hero when necessary.

After the surprising effects of its predecessor, here creatives have limited to do a little more of the same and to put a giant waterfall and an equally gigantic whirlpool already, and both already seen in the trailer, thus little surprise. The script turns had already been given in previous releases, but here the characters often change sides and betray one another so many times that eventually it seems a joke and lacks credibility.

The two main faults (in my opinion) are an excessively in my opinion, especially its first part that becomes very slow and long for no reason, and a script that this time is much weaker and with some unforgivable things like jokes are more important over action, which misses the whole epic emotion.

Not everything is bad, occasionally there is a spectacular scene, a joke that's funny, and after the first hour and a half the end is more entertaining. I have to say that some things sorpendieron me nicely, like the end unexpectedly brave and hard for a Disney movie, but still, one thing is completely and utterly out of place: I read that they're filming the new movie of the series: Pirates of the Caribbean 4, On Stranger Tides. I regret, I am sure it will be a new twist to a story that already should have stayed in a single movie, not a trilogy. What new can bring to something that already in its latest part was too far-fetched and lacking in consistency? In addition, two of the main protagonists, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley have refused to participate, but no matter, the project will proceed. Money is money : (

Repetitive News

In these days of Christmas vacation, I always get the feeling of living a deja vu when I watch any TV program or news. This happens because it seems that the imagination, along with the brains of creative television remain as dry as a gully where no rain. Because, always, ALWAYS, repeat the same programs and news, which are basically these:
1) Summary of events of the year, devoted to this subject for hours of tedious information filling.
2) News with stories featuring people who have won a lottery prize.
3) News with people from very cold lands; they love to bathe in ice water to celebrate the new year.
4) The ice hotel and ice super-sculptures that always appear at this time in some remote place.
5) News with data from people buying food for Christmas. Provided everything is very expensive, people are shocked with that, but they always buy the same expensive things, every year.
6) Compilation of New Year celebrations in different parts of the world.
7) Outlook for the coming year, which incidentally, are always more positive than it actually happens later.

What can we do? Well, if it doesn't put anything good, then let's leave out the TV: hanging out with friends, reading or swimming is usually infinitely more rewarding, but at this time even more so.

On Christmas Eve...

Well here I begin my blog, a bit late, I know. I've been delaying the inevitable because of my no ability to express in a language that I do not master at all, as is English.

I would like to start my blog by talking a little about myself: my name is Adrián, I'm 23 years old, this is not the first degree I start (I hope this time it will be fine, Medicine was not my thing).

My hobbies are quite varied: I have practiced triathlon for several years, I love swimming in the sea or swimming pools. I like other sports like football, but I am a very bad player, so I have always just followed from the outside, moreover, to be a fan of F.C. Barcelona can be very exciting!!
I have also gone to the conservatory for many years, I play the oboe and I love classical music (Vivaldi, Albinoni and Mozart are my favourite composers) but not ONLY classical music, I also love electronic music. I like reading trhillers, History attracts me, so I love reading historical novels, and I like to be informed, so I usually read some online newspapers and listen to the radio. Also, I'll deny it in public if somebody asked me but ... in recent years I have been fond of Japanese manga!
I also like going out with my friends, though I have been quite shy and reserved, so it took me some time to feel confortable. Ah, and I have nothing to say.

Rather, normally I think that I have nothing to say and I will not have anything that I can express through a text and which may be minimally interesting. But I realize that this is precisely one of the objectives of this task. So I will try to do my best, to make it as less tedious as possible. And, if I can, to let some texts written as decently as I can. There are some things that I think I can write about: song lyrics, my diary, recipes, stupid ideas that go through my head and something more.
There are nothing special, I know, but sooner or later I had to finish writing something anyway, and my time is running out, so ... Here we go!
